Meet the Panelists



Nikunj Oza, Ph.D.

Leader, Data Sciences Group at NASA Ames Research Center


Nikunj Oza is the leader of the Data Sciences Group at NASA Ames Research Center. He also leads a NASA project team that researches and applies machine learning to aviation safety and operations, and is part of the NASA Digital Transformation team. Dr. Oza’s 60+ research papers represent his research interests, which include data mining, machine learning, ensemble learning, anomaly detection, and their applications to Aeronautics and Earth Science. He received the Arch T. Colwell Award for co-authoring one of the five most innovative technical papers selected from 3300+ SAE technical papers in 2005. His data mining team received the 2018 and 2019 NASA Honor Awards and the 2010 NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate Associate Administrator¹s Award. In 2019, he was named by Cognilytica as one of 50 key people in the US government working to move the adoption of AI forward across the industry. He is an Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed journal Information Fusion (Elsevier) and has served as organizer, senior program committee member, and program committee member of many data mining and machine learning conferences. He received his B.S. in Mathematics with Computer Science from MIT in 1994, and M.S. (in 1998) and Ph.D. (in 2001) in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.




Ashwini Vasanth

Principal Product Manager for Enterprise AI, Nutanix


Ashwini Vasanth is a passionate product builder and technologist with experience building products in startups as well as Fortune 500 companies. She has spent the past two decades driving engineering excellence, leveraging the latest technologies and building products customers love. She is currently the Principal Product Manager for the Nutanix Enterprise AI offering. Outside of work, she hosts a podcast called Through the Corporate Glass where she brings on guests to have candid conversations about career choices and outcomes. She is passionate about supporting gender equality and education.







Nichole Walker

SVP & Chief Wealth Strategist, City National Bank


Nichole Walker is the Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist at City National Bank’s Wealth Planning unit, overseeing the Private Banking and Entertainment Banking divisions for the U.S. Western region. She offers comprehensive wealth and estate planning services to ultra-high net worth clients and family offices, focusing on areas such as wealth preservation, inter-generational transfers, philanthropic planning, family enterprise and governance, legacy planning, business succession, cross-border estate planning, and wealth management for art, collectibles, and digital assets.


Before joining City National Bank, Nichole was a wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, specializing in financial and complex estate planning. She also has 15 years of legal experience, serving as general counsel for technology and media companies, and as a special advisor for a hedge fund.




Shreya Gupta

Machine Learning Solutions Architect at Nvidia


Shreya Gupta is a Solutions Architect in Machine Learning at Nvidia. Previously, she was a founding machine learning engineer at Lamini AI, where she developed a software stack enabling enterprise customers to create and host their custom production-ready LLMs.

She completed her Master's degree from Stanford University in the Symbolic Systems program in the summer of 2023, where she collaborated with Prof. Fei-Fei Li on decoding EEG-brain signals for robotic manipulation. Additionally, she worked with Prof. Justin Gardner to design deep learning algorithms for modeling areas of the Visual Temporal Cortex using the fMRI NSD Dataset. She also interned at Google Translate, where she focused on scaling laws for neural-based evaluation metrics for machine translation models.


Shreya is passionate about research in theoretical and applied deep learning and natural language processing (NLP). She was an NSF-funded RIPS Scholar at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics at UCLA, where she worked with Google, LA on devising privacy protection frameworks.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Shreya is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM. She is a Lead at Women Who Code Delhi and founded the community MLNerdie x Delhi to bridge the gap between academia and industry in machine learning. For her initiatives, she was awarded the Google Women Techmakers Scholarship in 2019.

Kamalika Das, PhD 

Principal AI Researcher at Intuit


Kamalika Das leads AI Research at Intuit, where she focuses on exploring fundamental questions surrounding the reasoning ability and reliability of large language models, particularly in addressing issues of accuracy and trust in fintech applications.


With 15 years of experience in AI/ML research, Kamalika is passionate about learning and problem-solving. She has previously worked on research at the intersection of climate science and machine learning. Kamalika has been a Principal or Co-Investigator in several NASA/DARPA-funded projects and was awarded the Exceptional Public Service Medal at NASA for her contributions to aviation and climate science research. She also serves on the Senior Program Committee of AI conferences and co-chaired the Applied Data Science Track at the 2017 ECML-PKDD Conference.
